Joyetech ECA from

The Joyetech ECA long tube, also known as the Type A, is designed specifically for the Joyetech eVic advanced personal vaporizer. The one I received is black and matches the translucent black top of the eVic. I assembled with the 18350 tube accessory – both from You can see form the picture at the right just how great the eVic looks with its own specifically designed ECA atomizer.

The Joyetech ECA Type A is available in Black and Silver. The black unit comes with a black flat style drip tip, and the silver unit comes with a white flat style drip tip. It is 23 mm in diameter and a total of 47 mm high. It attaches to the eVic with the 510 threaded connector. One coil is included, the one I received was 2.1 ohm. The Joyetech ECA Type B is the short tube version. While it can also be used on the eVic (with the straight beauty ring), it is also suited for advanced personal vaporizers that use 18350, 18500, and 18650 batteries since the diameter is closer to those sizes. Both the Type A and Type B are identical, except for the height of the Type B (32.1 mm).

This is a rather unusual design. As you can see from the image on the left, the "tank" is entirely removable with the drip tip built in. It slides out of the tube (retained by O rings). Once it is out, you invert it and fill it through a small hole opening at the bottom. It is quite simple to fill. Leave it inverted and put the tube over it and slide it back in.

Because it is inverted, there is no possibility of leaks – no muss, no fuss.

When you insert it, the filler hole accommodates the chimney from the coil. It's a tight fit so that when the unit is upright again, still no leaks.

It took me a few inhale/exhale primer puffs to get it going. That's not unusual, we have to do the same thing with any new clearomizer/coil system that is new.

That's where the comparison ends, though. Once the juice hit the coil, the amount of vapor is extremely high – and so is the flavor rendition.

I suspect that most vapers use the eVic with a rebuildable or one of the more standard design clearomizers. They don't know what they are missing out on. The ECA is one awesome tank that just looks perfect sitting on top of the eVic. The ECA does not have air flow control –  however it is in the mid-range for air flow. Good for mouth or lung draws. I use primarily VG based eLiquids and had absolutely no problems with flow to the coil. This is an excellent atomizer.

.Joyetech also make a Type B version of the ECA tank system. I also received a Type B to review – it vapes idenytical to the Type A. The only real difference between the Type A and Type B is that the Type A has a longer tube that covers the 510/eGo thread at the top of the eVic head. The coil and tank capacity are identical in both.

The tank itself has a capacity of 3.5 ml. That is quite adequate and more than a full day of vaping for most users. Quite convenient.

The coil for the Joyetech ECA is common to the Joyetech eGo-C, eCab, and eRoll. carry the Joyetech ECA Type A (long tube) for $15.00. The Joyetech ECA Type B (short tube) is also $15.00. Both are well worth the price for these high end atomizers. Canvape also have the coils available in a five-pack for $4.95.
